The Problem
Restaurant staff took orders on paper when the venue wifi dropped, then re-keyed them later — wrong items, lost revenue, angry customers. Ordersly needed order capture that worked with zero connectivity and synced later without duplication.
The Solution
I built the app on Expo with a local SQLite queue as the source of truth. Orders are captured offline, stamped with a device-side ID, and reconciled with the server on reconnect using idempotent upserts.
Business Impact
The first restaurant went live six weeks after the kickoff. In the following quarter, order re-keying tickets dropped 45% and no order has been lost to connectivity since launch.

What I did
I built the app on Expo with a local SQLite queue as the source of truth. Orders are captured offline, stamped with a device-side ID, and reconciled with the server on reconnect using idempotent upserts — so a flaky connection never duplicates or loses an order.

Results
The first restaurant went live six weeks after the kickoff. In the following quarter, order re-keying tickets dropped 45% and no order has been lost to connectivity since launch.
